6.5.2 Beta - Curious 99% CPU only on Athlons

Post by wjstarck » Wed Mar 18, 2009 10:04 am

FYI, we noticed a slow down on one of our machines, since upgrading to 6.5.2 beta.

Opening OD to the appointment book and letting it sit there causes the CPU to shoot to 99% utilization. This is only occurring on two of our machines, which are the only two that have Athlon processors.

System 1: XP Pro 2002 SP 3, AMD Athlon XP 2800 + 2.08 GHz, 32 bit, 960 MB RAM
System 2: XP Pro 2002 SP 3, AMD Athlon 64 3700 + 2.19 GHz, 32 bit, 3.31 GB RAM

None of the other systems are affected, we run everything from XP Pro to Vista 32 and 64 bit, to Windows 2008 server running in VMware on a Ubuntu server (Xeon). All the other systems are Intel inside.

It's a well known bug at this point. I have a good idea where it is.
