Call List

Jordan-

Is there any way we can get a quick call list added to the software? For last minute hygiene cancellations it would be nice.

Unless I'm misunderstanding what you want, it's already there :)

Go to Reports >

and you'll find it listed on the right hand side of the window that pops up under Lists > Appointments

I understand the request. It's planned.

we use a task list for a "short call list", but it certainly could be better, as it is not self updating doing it that way...works just like a paper list used to though...

Jordan

We can really use a "short call" list in Open Dental. When making an appointment, we need a box to check if the patient is available
to come in earlier than their appt. ( in case of unexpected cancellations) The box shuld also ask when they are available- mornings
or evenings and perhaps what days. This feature is included in most of the popular practice management programs and would be one of
the BEST ways Open Dental can help us be more productive. I think this feature should be given top priority, since many offices
are experiencing increased cancellations with the current economic climate.

Thanks In Advance

You can already set your appointment status to ASAP. We have fields for preferred schedule times, but it seems that we do not yet have those fields accessible from the user interface. My reason for bringing this up is that it will be fairly easy to add those to make them fully functional. What is really missing is the ASAP list, which has been planned right from the beginning. I suggest you go vote for the ASAP list (it's not working tonight, however).

Jordan

If I set the appointment status to ASAP, will that enable me to print out a list of patients that are available on short call? Otherwise, what is the purpose of the "ASAP status"?

We have been noticing quite a bit of same day cancellations, due to economic conditions. We really need a way to generate a fast list of patients that can come in on short notice, perhaps a morning list and an afternoon list. The cancellations are what cause offices to lose significant money. A short call list in my opinion is one of the most important features a program can have. You were right to plan the ASAP list from the very beginning, it is definitely time to institute it. I am sure others agree. I vote for the ASAP SHORT CALL LIST.

Regards

Mitch

The ASAP status is currently pointless. An ASAP list needs to be added. Until it's added, you can always keep a manual list. I see zero votes for the ASAP list. Are you sure you voted?

This feature is now done. It will be in version 6.3.
