Question About Clinic Pay To Address and Billing Address

Post by mandmdiet » Mon Apr 25, 2022 11:41 am

In the documentation on this page: https://www.opendental.com/manual/cliniceditwindow.html it states:
Pay To Address: Enter the address where insurance payments will go if different than the physical treating address. This can be a PO Box. It will be used as the billing address on claims. If the billing address is also entered, and Use on Claims is checked, the pay to address is sent with the billing address on e-claims but overrides the billing address on printed claims.
I'm trying to understand the last sentence. It says If the billing address is also entered, and Use on Claims is checked, the pay to address is sent with the billing address on e-claims but overrides the billing address on printed claims.

Does this mean that when a billing address is entered and Use on Claims is checked that Open Dental puts the address found in the pay to address fields on e-claims and the address found in the billing address fields on printed claims? I'm confused about that word with. It makes it sound like the pay to address and billing address are both sent together (with) each other, but that can't be right, is it?

Hello mandmdiet, we have another manual page that explains how addresses are used on paper vs electronic claims here: https://www.opendental.com/manual/claimsaddresses.html. Pleas let me know if you still have any questions after having a look at that page.
