Restoring data issues

Post by jonesdds12 » Sun May 31, 2020 3:02 pm

I've started doing third back up so I personally can restore the data and make sure it's working properly. I run Parallels on my Mac with Win 10. I did successfully restore data about 3 weeks ago but now I can't figure out what's going on. Backups are occurring successfully it seems, no errors.

I'm using the backup and restore application in OD. I've not excluded the images folder when doing it. I'm logged in as Admin when doing the back up and the restore. I've screenshot the messages but can't figure out how to post here. Was restored I get the message "Restore from backup created on Friday 5/29/2020 3:22:35" and when click OK it give me "Unable to stop Msql service".

What's happening here?

You need to stop MySQL service MANUALLY

In Windows 10, press Alt Control Delete , all 3 togother
Click on Task Manager
Click on Services
Scroll to MySQL
Right click on MySQL
Click STOP

Now you can restore your data from a backup.

After your data is restored, now you need to RESTART the MySQL service
Again , in Services, right click on MySQL , and click restart

DONE.

If you right click the Open Dental icon on your desktop and click 'Run as administrator', you should be able to perform the restore without having to stop and start the MySQL service.
