elaim: missing teeth info for partial dentures is missing

Post by greatrd » Tue Mar 11, 2008 5:55 pm

We use Emdeon for eclaims. All are fine except for partial dentures - Emdeon says the missing teeth information is not received. The eclaims are all denied and we have to back to paper claim. Wondering anyone has the similar issue.

So did you mark teeth missing in the OD chart? http://www.open-dent.com/manual/missingteeth.html

We are using version 3.8.11 (we like it because a backup file is very small and easy to fit USB flash for taking home).

We mark missing teeth in "Tooth Range" and they show up in item 27 (Tooth Numbers or Letters) on a paper claim form, but notice they don't show up in item 34 (Missing teeth information).

Today we tried to apply an extraction procedure on these teeth, and did see the missing teeth information showed up in item 34 on a paper claim form, as well as in the eclaim!

Is there a way to mark a pre-existing missing tooth in 3.8.11 without having to apply extraction procedures, or must we upgrade the OD to a later version?

just a note on the backups...I am not sure with what version this started, but is is on the current beta v5.6 that I am using....you can now exclude the images folder to keep your backups very small still if that is the only reason you are staying on 3.8 (I would upgrade as there are so many new things that are great about OD since then!)

Thank you all for the info!
