How Imaging Bridges Work

Post by cooldoodh » Mon Aug 12, 2019 2:56 pm

Trying to understand if OD is the right solution for my cousin's practice.

When an imaging bridge is created what is the behavior & flow of data?
It seems like (generally):
1. In OD patient view I initialize the X-Ray Sensor Software.
2. The bridge opens the native software to some sort of patient specific page.
3. Any sort of imaging is done in the native Software.
4. The images persist in the native software and never come back into OD.

Question:
Does OD ever exist as the home base for Radiographs?

That is how most imaging software works with Open Dental. There are a few that are more advanced that allow you to view images inside Open Dental; XVWeb is one that I know of.
