Deleting unused treatment plan procedures

Post by Cheryl Stern » Wed Dec 12, 2018 9:56 am

Hi,

Is there any way to delete items in a treatment plan that were not done, but are attached to a preauthorization. For example, a post and core on a tooth that only needed a core build up. If I go to procedure info and click on edit anyway. I get:
Not allowed to delete a procedure that is attached to a claim or preauth.
If I delete the items in the financial section "add estimate" I can sometimes delete all of them and then the claim. But sometimes it won't let me and I get this message:
Not allowed to delete the last procedure from a claim. The entire claim would have to be deleted.
These items show up in treatment finder reports and they do not need to be done. Same if I treatment plan a gold crown or porcelain crown and send both as preauths to see what the insurance will pay. I cannot delete the procedure that was not done.

Thanks for any help!

The claim needs to be deleted first.

If the claim is not sent, it can be deleted at any time as long as you have permission. Then you will be able to delete the procedures.

Thank you! I just needed to change the claim from received to another choice on the list.
