Making an appointment

Post by Cypresspd » Mon Sep 10, 2018 12:49 pm

If I am making a new patient appointment and I haven't entered the patients insurance/benefits why do I have to attach a code before making the appointment. A procedure must be attached to save the appointment?

There is a preference in Appointment Module Preferences to require a procedure on all appointments: "Appointments require procedures". You can uncheck that preference if you want to be able to make appointments without procedures attached.

i recommend to train your staff to set your software to require it. Open dental works better like that.
if you don't have the insurance info yet, just attach a comprehensive exam. you gotta do it anyway, right?
for recalls you have to attach a code that triggers the recall ie Prophy otherwise your recall's appointments won't be seen by the software.
