Why no autonote on appointment screen?

Post by JLM » Tue Jun 05, 2018 11:26 am

I am trying to develop a strategy for going paperless. I watched the Webinar on clinical notes.

1) If I do six fillings in one appointment, wouldn't I want to put information like this in the appointment note, not in a procedure note?

Code: Select all

4 c Lido 2/100, scotchbond, filtek A2B, N2O 3l/O2 3l BP:120/70 PO: 100/72, 5 min O2
2) If it is best in a procedure note, then do you repeat it six times or put all of the notes one just one of the six procedures?

3) Why is there no "auto note" button for appointment note fields? Is that not an appropriate place to place documentation?

Thanks for your input.

The best way to do this would be to create a group note that is attached to all six procedures.

Yep, that works. I hadn't grasped group notes, I guess.
As a programmer, It seems to me that there is some juicy, unused real estate immediately to the right of the appointment description field that would be perfect for treatment notes so you don't have to add yet another line to the progress notes. Especially given all the unused real estate on the right side of my monitor. Just sayin' ;)

Can you even buy a monitor with less than HD resolution any more??

I'm currently writing up a feature where you can put a patient dashboard on the right side of the screen where you can choose pieces of information to show in all the modules.

Great! Is this for 18.2 I assume?

Great news. I hope you can put the health history/things-you-really-need-to-know-about-this-patient in that area. (don't lean way back! needs neck pillow! hates ultrasonic! No Epi! Gags on xrays! Blood thinners! Hey, you logged in but you're not clocked in...again...)

I'm hoping to get this in to 18.2, but it looks like it's going to be tough to make the cutoff with this feature.

I'll include those items in my proposal for this feature!
