Can I automatically get a completed proc code with appt

Post by aussiedentist » Tue Jun 05, 2018 12:32 am

Hi, with EVERY appointment we have, we have a made up procedure code, 000, that we use for steri tracking.

Ideally, I would like to have this automatically created, AND completed, AND be unable to be moved or deleted in the future.

Is this possible?

Sometimes now, we might complete the wrong one, or delete it, which we want to guard against.

I can't think of a way to accomplish this. The closest you could come is to use appointment types for all your appointments and add the 000 code to all appointment types. If that doesn't suffice for your needs, you can submit a feature request.

Go to Setup -> Appointments -> Appointment Types and create a few appointment types for some common types of appointments that you do: New Patient Exam, Regular Cleaning, etc. Make sure that your 000 code is attached to each of these types. Create one more appointment type called something like "Unspecified" and attach only the 000 code to it. Then check the box "New appointments prompt for appointment type". Now when your staff makes appointments, you'll have to train them to select an appointment type. Make sure that your staff use the "Unspecified" type instead of "None" when the appointment they're creating doesn't fit a type.
