Multiple copies of OD on same workstation?

Post by Scott » Tue Jan 23, 2018 12:27 pm

Can you run multiple copies of OD on a single workstation with dual monitors? For example: One to show chart and one to show schedule.

I don't see why not.

I run multiple copies whenever I'm stuck one screen (entering long note, etc) and then need to look up another patient really quickly (phone call comes in).

Yes, although AFAIK 3rd party plugins do not work in the second (or third) instance

I guess I should refine the question. Is it supported by OP? We have been doing it for a number of years but since we updated to 17 we have been having random errors and one copy shutting down.

Having multiple instances of Open Dental is supported and is often times suggested as a workaround to complete a plethora of different types of tasks (as the above posts insinuate). Feel free to describe your "random errors" in hopes that we can help you out. Be sure to give specific version information, 17 won't cut it when looking for official help.
