Sheets in Chart vs. Images in Images Module - An idea

Post by Rickliftig » Wed May 31, 2017 4:53 am

This morning I was looking for a letter generated to an insurance company. After about five minutes, there was an ah-hah moment: the letter was not in the images module, it was in the chart notes as it had been generated as a sheet. This brought another ah-hah moment.

One of my OD annoyances is the inability to easily find exam sheets, consent forms and letters. I know that I can set up a chartview for this, but this doesn't cover letters to and from other doctors, insurance companies, etc. It also doesn't offer a clear description of the sheet - it may simply say "letter-insurance". But, the images folder is an appropriate repository AND easily navigated and annotated.

SO - what if there was an option to export all sheets into the images folder? What if sheets were automatically recorded in the chart and then also placed in the images folder (or a placeholder/re-direct)?

Any thoughts?

best,

Rick

PS - I guess I suggested this way back Req #1388.

I love this idea. I also find it annoying to have to go to different places for the various sheets. Having everything show up in images would make life much more simple.

Great idea.

This has been resubmitted as #1388 - Hey OD staff - Can I buy some points?

 I love it.

We don't sell points but will give locations more points if they have several clinics within one database. Regardless, it would be just as good to pledge a monetary amount (of whatever you were planning on spending towards additional points).
The best thing about a boolean is even if you are wrong, you are only off by a bit.

I think that I might have a work around for you. Use the Windows snipping tool to copy the document that you want. Then save as a PDF file. You can then import the pdf file into Images.

Even easier is to use the "create PDF" button at the bottom of the sheets page and import that into Images.

That would work fine, Jeff. I will often do that, but it's a lot of added work. It's also tough to consistently remember to do this. It would be a lot easier if this was incorporated into the program.

Many thanks for your idea.
