appointment text messaging confirming

Post by Ariel.Ballinger » Thu Mar 23, 2017 9:04 am

Hello, I am new to this! I just started about 6 weeks ago and am trying to add new things to satisfy our patients.
So my question is:
Is there a way that you can directly send a text message to a patient to remind them or their appointment from open dental?
Thank you Ariel!

You'll be interested to read all about our integrated texting features:

etc.
The best thing about a boolean is even if you are wrong, you are only off by a bit.

I would like to cover a couple of things about eConfirmations (this is covered in our manual as well but I wanted to give you a few quick bullet points) that may be of interest to you:
* The eConfirmation system is automated, meaning you won't have to manually send anything if you don't want to
* eConfirmations can automatically update the Confirmation Status of a patient's appointment in a couple of ways.
  • 1) SMS: If you're using the Integrated Texting feature, your patients can reply to their confirmation text with whatever code was sent to them (typically 'C') or the patient can click a link in the text and confirm through a browser (this message is what is shown on the image on http://www.opendental.com/manual/ereminders.html
    2) Email: The patient cannot confirm via code through email, but they can still be sent the URL described above and confirm through that method.
* Your messages can be customized, but we recommend trying to keep the SMS messages below 160 characters.

If you have additional questions about this feature, we have a video that covers it here:
* http://www.opendental.com/manual/webinaremessages.html

Of course, if you have more questions, we're always happy to answer them via forum, email, chat, or phone call.
Hope this helps! :-)
