Procedure status to track rejected treatment?

Post by noestervemb » Sat Oct 15, 2016 2:49 pm

For procedures under procedure status you can select treatment planned, complete, condition, referred out, existing current provider and existing other provider.

Do you know if you can custom definie these? My plan was to make one called "Denied treatment for now" that way for those patients that we plan bridges etc but they are not ready for it and might never be, we could set is a "denited treatment for now" or whatever we call it. It would still show up on the odontogram, we would be able to give is a separate color if we want, and you could then still remember what you had planned for the patient.

And it would not get on your report for treatment planned procedures so for year end benefits calls and/or emails you know you would not ahve to call the patient for this.

I know you can save a treatment plan and the delete the treatment but then it goes away from the odontogram as a planned procedure.

There is not a way to create custom procedure statuses. An improvement to saving the a treatment plan and then deleting the procedure is to move the procedure to an inactive treatment plan. If the patient does decide to accept the treatment, you can simply move the procedure to the active treatment plan. This way you retain the information of when it was charted and any notes on the procedure. It will not show in treatment plan reports when it is inactive. Unfortunately, it will remove the color from the odontogram.
