Setting up a network

Post by brilliantsmileny » Wed Sep 14, 2016 11:48 am

Good afternoon,

The practice I am working with is extremely excited to begin using Open Dental, we have downloaded it onto our main server and attached computer but have hit a road-block. We now need to link all of our other computers (2 tablets, 2 desktops, and 1 laptop) with Open Dental via creating a network. This is where we are stuck, we need to create a network on our secure Wi-Fi that will link all of the other computers, thus allowing us to use Open Dental seamlessly between all of our systems. Can someone please list easy-to-follow steps on how this may be done? It would be much appreciated.

This is the million dollar question. If you've never done it before, you may want to recruit some professional help, as you will need to do a Security Risk Analysis for HIPAA. After your staff, your network setup and security is typically the biggest vulnerability in an office. http://opendental.com/manual/hipaa.html

We have some information regarding network setup on our manual http://opendental.com/manual/computernetworksetup.html
