VoiceWorks - is it worth it?

Post by JDs » Tue Aug 23, 2016 12:15 pm

Hello Forum,
My first post. We're looking at converting to OD soon and also looking to add VoiceWorks by Florida Probe. The voice recognition on this product is amazing & every user I've spoken to has been happy. I want to make sure that OD doesn't have something like that in the software before I shell out the $ for it. Would love to hear back from you all.
Thanks
Joe Dindo

Open Dental doesn't currently have anything like that built into the software. Some users like to use the built in Windows voice recognition software and others tend to use other software, like Dragon Naturally Speaking or ViaVoice.

If VoiceWorks has a trial that you can try out I highly recommend trying it out with Open Dental's trial version to see if it's a good fit for you.

My 2 hygienist use Windows Voice recognition with Logitech H390 headphones from Amazon @ around $25 both love it. It works great with the Open Dental Perio charting, after a slight learning curve.
