Splitting appointment time between team members

We are trying to rearrange our schedule so that it shows how much time is needed by the dr. and how much time is for the assistant in the same appointment. For example, 30 min. for my prep time, 30 min. for imp and temp with the assistant. I don't want to generate 2 appointments, because I don't want our automated confirmation system to perceive that and confirm with them twice. I'm doing this so I can manage my time more efficiently. Are there any suggestions on how to do this? Thanks.

This is usually accomplished with the conjunction of provider time/assistant time set on the left side of the procedure in the procedure edit window (http://www.opendental.com/manual/procedurecodeedit.html), the left side of the appointment in the edit appointment window (http://www.opendental.com/manual/aptedit.html), and provider bars shown on the appointment module that come from provider schedules (http://www.opendental.com/manual/appointments.html). When scheduling an appointment, it will automatically pull the time pattern from the procedures but can also be manually adjusted by clicking on the squares on the left side of the appointment edit window.

When fully set up, you can glance through the day's schedule and see approximately when the provider is needed on each appointment denoted by the color on the left side of the appointment, along with what time the provider is already scheduled for that date by looking at the color squares filled in the provider bars on that day's appt schedule.
