Secure Web Mail a la carte

Post by Jay » Wed Sep 30, 2015 8:41 am

Is there a plan to implement Secure Web Mail as a standalone feature without the rest of the Patient Portal features? As far as I know, the current implementation shares the following information:

1. Payments made and statements sent.

2. Secure WebMail messages between the patient and the provider. Messages can be viewed and sent. Attachments (e.g. Clinical Summaries) can be viewed.

3. A summary of patient health information in the form of a Continuity of Care Document (CCD). This can be viewed, downloaded, or transmitted to a third party.

I have a feeling a lot of offices would prefer to have the option of switching off items 1 and 3 and only use 2. It might be a requirement for EHR offices to have all three turned on but not so for others.

If you support this option, support feature request number 4071.

Judging by the response this is not anyone's priority. May I ask if there are any non-EHR practices using (or planning to use) OD's Secure Web Mail feature?
