Update to current version

Post by michaelhuangdds » Sun Jun 07, 2015 7:16 am

I am a current open dental user but have not been on monthly support for a couple of years. How do I need to do to get the most recent software version? Do I need to get back on support again or is there a one time upgrade fee?

Michael,
You are using the best PMS out there. The monthly support is minimal but without it OD wouldn't be able to keep improving. Get on support and benefit from the frequent improvements that are made in the program and help support its development.
Just my 2¢.

Without being on support, you'll have to build from source code to get to the most recent version. If you've never done that before, it's a pretty sharp learning curve.

Yes, you have to be on support to get upgrades we build. For returning customers, we currently require a minimum of three months of support: http://opendental.com/manual/fees.html

We release 3-4 new versions a year. You can see our release cycle on our webpage: http://opendental.com/manual/versions.html. If you click on each of the versions, you'll see a greater break down of all the new features for that build.
