Printing Treatment plan

Post by gavinashg » Fri May 15, 2015 12:34 pm

Hello,
We want to print the treatment plan for all our patients (print to a file).
We need an automatic way to do so (like a script) otherwise its too much of a manual work opening each patient's account.
Thanks for the help.

There's currently no way to do this within Open Dental. What are you trying to do? What do you need all those paper copies of TPs for? Maybe we can think of an alternative solution for you that saves time and trees.
The best thing about a boolean is even if you are wrong, you are only off by a bit.

Jason,
He doesn't want to print PAPER copies. He said he wants to print to a file, such as a .pdf.
There must be a query that would do that.

The only way to automatically store treatment plans to a file is to go into Setup | Definitions | Image Categories and flag one of the folders as a Treatment Plans folder. The kicker is that this will only save them automatically to that folder when you print them from the treatment plan module, but this is as close as it gets to automation. The easiest route I would think would be to install a PDF printer, which will convert whatever you try to print into a PDF document where you can save wherever you want.
In order to understand recursion you must first understand recursion.

Yes, that is what he wants to do. However, he doesn't want to have to open every tx plan for every patient one by one. He is looking for a query that will print all tx plans on record to a .pdf file.
He needs a custom query that will return all treatment plans in one report. Doesn't seem easy.
