Changing a default pay period lenght of 15 days

Post by spolevoy » Thu Mar 19, 2015 6:21 am

When I add pay periods in OD, it defaults to 15 days - even though the intent is 14.
IOW, if I make a pay period start from 5/10/15 (Sunday), it defaults it to end on 5/24/15 (Sunday), when it should be 5/23/15 (Sat).
So every time I add a pay period, I have to change the end date.

There's no place I know of to change the default value. I think either the default is wrong, or I am.

which one is it?

I don't see an option anywhere to change the default time card length, so I'm assuming that's part of the source code of the program. I, too, have to manually change the dates for nearly every time period.

As of version 15.1 the default pay period length is 14 (so by default, a pay period today would go from 03/23 to 04/05)

I feel your pain.
My office, as well as most offices in my area, pay periods end the 15th of the month and the last day of the month.
And yes.......it's a PIA to change.
There should be some way where one can choose the days once, ie 15th and 30th, or 15th and "last day of month", but to assume everyone has the same periods is absurd.
Just my 2 cents.

I've implemented the solution I was suggesting in this post. It works like a charm for our 2 weeks pay period. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4830&hilit=FormTimeCardSetup
