*Open Dental Looking for new Web Sched service beta testers

Post by MarkJohnson » Thu Mar 05, 2015 12:31 pm

Open Dental has a new beta feature released in version 15.1 where patients can click on an emailed URL and schedule their own recall appointments. We are looking for a few practices to beta test this service and provide us with feedback to improve the system. The current implementation does not have many configuration options and would not be appropriate for every practice. Appointment options will be presented to the patient based on the following criteria:

http://www.opendental.com/manual/websched.html
One full hour must be available in the operatory. All appointment openings start on the hour.
The operatory must be marked 'Is Hygiene', or
the hygienist must be set as the primary or secondary provider for the operatory in Operatory Setup, or
the hygienist and operatory must be assigned to the time block in Schedule Setup.
Blockouts are not considered 'available' time.
There can be multiple operatories with openings. If so, and an appointment is scheduled using Web Sched, the operatory on the farthest left of the schedule (order of 1) is selected.

Currently we can't designate a specific op for web appointments or control which hygienist a patient will see if there are more than one. Web Sched only works with recall via email. If you are comfortable using a beta release and can work with the current Web Sched limitations, we will offer 3 months of free service (Web Sched service, not general support) in exchange for your feedback on building business logic to better configure and control the system for our next release.

I will comment on this post once we have enough beta testers. If interested, please call support 503-363-5432 and ask for Mark.
