version 15 microsoft office bridge

Post by enamelrod » Fri Feb 27, 2015 5:05 am

Can someone explain what this bridge from Open Dental to Microsoftoffice does? and does it work with office 365 online?

It's not limited to just Microsoft Office, but what the bridge does is open or create a document associated with the selected patient. Some offices like to store patient notes outside of Open Dental, and this is how that would be achieved, since you can bring up a patient, click the Office bridge, and have the document with your notes opened. It should work with Office 365, since the only requisite is whether or not the application identified in the Path section of the program link can open the file extension that is identified in the additional properties section.

The only way to open a template document is if you had already saved them as such in the specified document folder in the program properties. You would have to save the template as all of the patient numbers of the patients you want to use it for.
