32 vs 64bit?

Post by genebrabston » Wed Feb 11, 2015 7:04 am

Need to replace a WinXP workstation w/ a Win7 workstation.....32 vs 64 bit? Server at present is a 32bit WinXP machine but will be replaced later in the year.

Thanks,

Gene

How often do you replace your workstations?

If it's more than 2 years, I'd think about 64 bit as 32 bit machines are going the way of the dodo...

better upgrade XP...you are running a security risk as it is no longer supported by Microsoft. Unless you are buying really cheap referbs, go for windows 8 over 7. Networking is smoother, uses less resources, and boots much faster....Although Win10 should be out later this year also...
