Trial Version- Networking?

Post by AndrewC » Wed Mar 12, 2014 6:03 pm

Hi,

I'm heavily leaning towards using OpenDental for my scratch start up, and have downloaded and ran the trial version of Open Dental. I was hoping to test the networking and kiosk mode of Open Dental on another computer, but it seems this is not supported in the Trial Version, so is there another way I can test the kiosk manager function w/o having to spring for the full version just yet? Thanks!

The trial version is full-featured. The only two things that are different are the 30-patient limit and the T codes instead of ADA D codes. Make sure both computers are on the same network. Install OD trial to both computers. Make sure your designated server firewall is open to MySQL. Make a note of your server name or its internal IP (192.168.1.x? or 10.0.0.x?) Point the kiosk computer to the server using the server name and IP. Search for kiosk in the manual for more information.

Thanks! You are right, I'm not sure what I did wrong before, but now I can connect fine.
