Installed new computer at front desk. Went from 6 year old dell with xp to inspiron 660s with win7 home running onboard intel hd graphics. Tooth chart in chart module did not show up by default, but within a few minutes of changing the graphics formats, I was able to get it show up. However, it doesn't show up when we print out a treatment plan, only a big black box. Tried on multiple printers.
Any suggestions?

Re: tooth chart not printing out
Have you tried using OpenGL instead of DirectX? I know it says DirectX is recommended but for me OpenGL just works straight away.

Re: tooth chart not printing out
I can't remember if Direct X is required in order to print out on treatment plans, I know it's required in order to view the graphical perio chart. I'd recommend trying all the Troubleshooting steps on this page: http://opendental.com/manual/graphics.html
In my experience it's been graphic driver updates that tend to help the most.

Re: tooth chart not printing out
Direct X is not needed.
You may need to simply change your graphics settings to a more appropriate format for that workstation. Go to File>Graphics, check the 'Choose All Formats' and keep going down the list until something works.
Note: Do not settle for a flickering tooth chart.

Arna is dead on. We had already gone through many of the formats, but weren't finding a solution. That's when I posted the question here on the forum. But it just came down to continuing to try formats until we found one that worked.
