Email Treatment Plans?

Post by Roy Bloom » Wed Dec 19, 2007 12:00 pm

I have tried to scan and then copy and paste. It says can not retrieve from clipboard.

Ugh everytime I try to make things easier it seems to get harder.

some email program dont' take Ctrl+V command
When email program allows Ctrl+V, then it is so easy
1. Ctrl+PrintScreen ....to copy whatever on the screen (Tx Plan)
2. Ctrl+V (paste) into email message
3. Send.....

Just use version 5.5 when it comes out. It's single click as a pdf straight from our main toolbar. I might put it out tonight, but no promises.

I do not email treatment plans (or anything else as yet) and I have not tried the new email PDF function in 5.5, but for those who need to print to PDF from just about any program, not just OpenDental, consider using one of several programs to accomplish this: PDF995, CutePDF, etc. I currently use PDFill and am quite satisfied with it.

The advantage of the integrated PDF support in 5.5 is that OpenDental automates the emailing of the PDF (which is why you are printing to PDF in the first place).

Question: Why are the PDF attachments just stored in the EmailAttachments folder of the OpenDentalData folder instead of directly in the patient's folder? The file names do not refer to the patients, so, how can we confirm what was sent to whom when? Since the files are not named, can they ever be deleted? If the email is sent directly from Open Dental is it stored in the normal Outlook, etc Sent Folder?
