Need a Positive Review of Open Dental

Post by brandonj » Tue Sep 24, 2013 12:26 pm

Hi all,

My company is considering Open Dental for use in our 10 dental clinics. The project team has done a lot of testing and tweaking. Love the software.

The only thing holding us back at this point: my boss is adamant that I talk to a customer or two of Open Dental and get feedback.

Would any kind soul out there be willing to have a conversation with me? I don't intend to take up much of your time. After all the vetting we've done, I'm not really sure what questions I have left. Perhaps we could talk about your adoption of Open Dental and what challenges our user might face in the beginning.

Thanks!
Brandon

We also can give you offices (even in your area) to talk to if you like. We get referral requests all the time and have a plethora of happy users which volunteer (much like you're seeing users on the forum doing) to share their stories of their experience with the use of Open Dental.
The best thing about a boolean is even if you are wrong, you are only off by a bit.

There was some talk of regional User Group meetings at one point, but haven't heard anything recently. Anything in the works?

Thank you all for your help!!! I think I have what we need.

+1 User Meetings. I would gladly support/attend any meeting on the west coast. I'm sure several people from my organization would as well.

Are there any users on the east coast, metro NY area which could provide some unbiased reviews?

I am in Brooklyn, NY
I am giving a lecture to the Second District Dental Society this coming Thursday evening on Developing a Paperless Practice. OD will feature prominently in it. If you would like to attend contact SDDSNY.org
If you can't attend and you have any questions about OD, I would be happy to speak to speak to you, after Oct 10.

We have some different options. My preferred option is for us to open up branch offices and have the staff at those offices do User Group meetings as part of their regular duties. Our first planned branch office is for Vancouver, BC, and probably the second will be in San Jose. If things go well, we'll spread from there.
