Referral button

Post by dentalba » Fri Jun 07, 2013 7:39 am

To my knowledge the only way to add a referral is by going into the family module and double click the green section listed referrals. It would make more sense to me to have a button accessible from the chart module. Can it be accessed another way? Can another button be added?

The Family Module patient information referral rows are the only way to access it that I'm aware of. You could make a feature request to add a button to the Chart Module or better yet, add it to the available ChartPatientInformation display fields.

You can also access it from the chart module in the following manner:
1. Select referral from Entry Status.
2. Select tooth and procedure to refer.
3. Double click the procedure in the Progress Notes section.
4. Click on the square with the ... above the Procedure Notes box.

I forgot about that one... Which reminded me, you can always show the referral window from anywhere in Open Dental if you use the quick key combos:
Ctrl + Alt + R OR Ctrl + X

Another option is to use my plugin which places referral info and access in the account and chart. I got tired of not being able to see where the pt has been referred when looking at the pt's chart (which is where you want to see it).

Is there a list of these QKCs? - I can't find them in a search - seems like they would be useful to have.

I'm trying to find where (or if) there is a listing of referrals from a given patient, i.e., Mrs. Jones is coming in and I would like to thank her for referring < her referrals> ...

Would be even better if it could pop up or signal all recent (maybe since this patient's last visit) referrals so we can acknowledge them at the referrer's next appointment.

No there isn't. There just isn't enough to condone having a list of them. This thread has pretty much all that I can think of on it:

I'm pretty sure the "Referral Analysis" report gives this information. It's been a while since I ran it though so I could be wrong.

Dr. Tech's plugin is awesome. We use it a lot. I vote for incorporating it into the full program :)

DrTech ... You are so cool, and neat. Would you be willing to share your Plug-In Solution with me? (Source)?

I want to modify how OD handles scanners. Without recompiling the main OpenDental executable....

BADLY!

Hook me up? PLEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEE!

PLEASE!

I guess you could put it that way. Its pretty amazing what you can do with our plugin framework:

This page is where I like to hang out the most when I'm writing my plugins:

I start using Dr.Tech's plug in and I like a lot.
I do have open dental version 14.2.23 and open dental gold version 14.1.14.
I set up account display check "show referral alert below patient balance", but referral alert not showing up as Dr.Tech's picture show.
Anything wrong with the way I set up?
