Fax Machine Died

Post by savvy » Thu Apr 18, 2013 7:46 pm

Today my HP 920 Fax Only died after some 15 years of service.
I figure in this day an age, a fax machine isn't necessarily required.....right?
What are others using to send and receive faxes.
I really don't want to get an All-In One or a Fax/Phone.
What are my options?

Online fax service. I use Ringcentral (business VoIP + fax). Costco also pitches online fax through Accessline. There are many others.
Incoming fax goes to a storage website with login
Outgoing fax is sent via attachment in an email (email with attachment sent to 1800faxnumber@yourfaxprovider.com)

Works great. $10/month or so.

why not try a usb fax modem and hooking it to your computer. Let the computer receive the faxes so u can cut down on paper as well

Sounds reasonable...
What does one need?
I assume one needs some sort of software, right?
Can you recommend one or two....or three?
