Scanned EOB for no payment

Post by drtech » Wed Feb 27, 2013 5:12 pm

Entering Ins checks again, I found a pretty critical flaw in the setup for EOB scans. If the pt has no payment for a procedure, there is no place to attach the scanned EOB. You can of course put it in images if it is an individual check, but the main issue is on bulk checks.

The only ones you really need to reference later are those that don't get paid, so can this please be fixed where there is still a $0.00 check attached to the ins claim that includes the scanned EOB?

There is currently no place to store scanned EOBs that have zero payment because there will be no Insurance Payment object to attach them to.

I haven't been one to look into the matter but I knew it sounded familiar. My brain isn't working atm so I'm drawing blanks on a work around or a possible solution.

The solution we have been using is to manually rescan the applicable page into the patients images module under the EOB section. I would advocate for being able to attach EOB's to non payments also.

I called support and had them walk me thru making a bulk payment of $0 so I could scan an EOB then when I did my deposit I had a deposit amount of $0..couldn't put it on my deposit slip because they would look at me funny at the bank..so I had to make a deposit for $0 to clear it from the deposit list..way too messy....

Just manually scan it into an insurance folder in the images module... Eventually they will find a way to attach 'no payment' scans to a claim.
