What sort of accounting procedures does od have?

Post by aussiedentist » Sun Feb 03, 2013 3:36 am

My dad (who doubles as my accountant!) is interested in what od has and does not have accounting wise

Can anybody rattle off all the sorts of things that it has, and any shortcomings that it may have?

Dr. Sparks wrote an entire accounting section into Open Dental. We use in here at HQ instead of common accounting software like QuickBooks, Peachtree, etc. The documentation online doesn't really do it justice but I recommend he look at it and maybe even play around with it and see if he likes it. I can't really tell you what it's lacking because I'm not the one in the office that uses it. And usually if we are using it and it is lacking something, we add it pretty quickly so I'd imagine it's pretty sound.

The best thing about a boolean is even if you are wrong, you are only off by a bit.
