I'm not intimate with the versions of Cerec and what exact ones will work with OD. As far as I know, any version should work. The most common issues with any bridge is having an invalid path or not having the bridging software put into "bridge" mode and trying to use it while it is still in "standalone" mode if you will. I could better help you if you could share what the error message says that you are receiving.

You were right. The bridge needs the optional line arguments to create the patient ( - [PatNum];[FName];[LName];). After doing it it works as planned.
Thank You for your help.

What does the cerec bridge allow? Does it just populate the patient info fields?

The Cerec bridge will pass over the current patient in OD's LName, FName, and Birthdate and populate those fields in Cerec.

Thanks jwhitney.
I have set up the bridge but I get an error that it requires Eaglesoft to launce Sirona applications. Any ideas?

The only thing I can find in the specifications is this statement: "If the database is connected in CEREC, the patient is registered in the SIRONA database. If this is not the case, the patient will be created in the local CEREC data structure." It sounds like for whatever reason your patients are registered in SIRONA.

Does Open Dental have an updated bridge to CEREC from Sirona?
I could not make the existing one work, or does someone have any additional info on how to make it work.

Most 3rd party softwares do not change their bridging code that often so we do not go actively perusing their newer versions to test for backwards compatibility. What is the specific version of CEREC that you are having trouble making work?

Jason, thanks for your reply. I was busy here. You were right again. I am using Cerec SW4.2.5

Path of file to open: C:\Program Files\Sirona Dental Systems\CADCAM\CEREC\CerPI.exe
Optional Command Line arguments: [LName], [FName]

1- you mainly need to find where is the CerPI.exe file, and point to it,
2- and , if needed, add the optional command line argument: [LName], [FName]
sometimes it is not needed.
