Spell Checker

Post by B.Thomas » Tue Aug 21, 2012 4:04 pm

Would it be difficult to add a spell checker to open dental? There are so many different modules and note areas I'm thinking it would be complicated.

Feature Request #541 and I am happy to say that it has worked its way to the #1 spot in the feature request list. Hopefully we will see some work on this feature request soon. I can't imagine it would be an easy thing to accomplish but I have wanted it for a long time. Not only spell checking capability but "on the fly" correction would also be great! Maybe I am asking for too much. :P

I'm pretty sure that this has already been looked into but just in case no one has looked already, here are several opensource spell checking projects.

http://hunspell.sourceforge.net/

http://aspell.net/

http://code.google.com/a/apache-extras. ... o-myspell/

From my quick Google research, hunspell seems to be the popular choice for several big opensource projects.
