BioPAK Bridge Question

Post by jourdo » Sat Apr 14, 2012 8:50 am

So, I was able to get it working through the instructions in the manual. That was fairly simple. My only issue is trying to link it my existing database in the program. I tried using the bridge on my own file and it created a new instance of me in the BioPAK database, even though I am already listed there previously. What is the best/easiest way to make the two programs sync a little better?

EDIT: I just tried adding my patient number manually to the BioPAK program. Now when I try to use the bridge it says I already exist, and won't open up.

I've edited the instructions in our manual based on the BioPAK documentation. See if that works.

If capitalization matters, then that is where it won't work with the existing database without changing the Open Dental entries. BioPAK will not allow for lower case letter in the name. I'll have to keep trying it out.

If BioPAK really doesn't allow lowercase, then we can simply always send uppercase. So let us know if changing the Open Dental entry to all caps first solves the problem. If so, then we can make the internal changes to send uppercase.

No dice. Same problem happens. It says that the patient already exists.

There are a few different things we can do here. We already added an official BioPAK bridge in version 12.2. It might be time to switch to that so that the middle initial gets passed. I suspect that's the problem. See if it works any better if the middle initial is removed from BioPAK first. If you'd like to switch to the new bridge, our staff can help you with that if you call.
