Beta 12.0 scanning EOB question

Post by Pruce Dental » Fri Jan 06, 2012 2:27 pm

Jordan...

I started scanning EOB's into version 12.0....

To view an EOB afterwards you have to go to the claim screen and double click on the insurance checks section to view the EOB or is there another way to see them also? Reason I am asking is because I want to be able to see scanned EOB's that have a zero payment. On bulk checks I can go to a different patient to see the scanned EOB's with no payment. Is there a way to even scan in a single EOB (versus bulk payment) on an EOB with zero payment?

No, there isn't a place to scan an EOB with zero payment. Good point. I added that to the manual before I forgot.

Is there going to be a way to scan zero payment claims anytime soon then?

I have plenty of patient's with dual insurance coverage with the primary not covering any prostho, single crowns, etc. and need to scan the EOB's for NEA attachments for the secondary insurance. Seems silly to have most of the claims scanned and attached to the actual claim and having to scan the others into the images module.

Because there's no payment object, I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around this. I'm not sure where we would logically attach it. I think we would have to explicitly allow zero amount payments, and that's fairly complicated. So no, it won't happen immediately.

Yeah, that's a big one. We get zero payments on primarys all the time and then we need to scan in the EOB and send to secondary.

We figured it was best to at least build something and then make improvements to it. I'm sorry the first version isn't perfect.

Don't you just love insurance? I got an EOB a couple of weeks ago deducting $6.00 from a payment of $6.00 made in March 2011. Net paid is $0.00!!!
