Post by genebrabston » Sat Dec 10, 2011 4:03 am

How can we easily build a fee schedule for a particular dental insurance company utilizing EOBs received for a certain patient or patients?
We are currently using OD ver 11.049

thanks,

"Until the improvements are made, the Blue Book feature should be used sparingly. The automatic generation of fee schedules can be turned off by unchecking the "Use Blue Book" checkbox.
The allowed fees will then continue to update automatically, but you will manage the fee schedules manually."
Jordan, I don't understand that last sentence. Could you elaborate?

So really, all that the Blue Book toggle does is to automate the creation of fee schedules (not the fees themselves). You could leave that toggle completely off and still have the automation of updating allowed fees. BUT, that automation only works if there exists an allowed fee schedule to update for that plan. If an insurance plan has no allowed fee schedule set, then there will be no automation of updating allowed fees. The Blue Book toggle option is what automatically generates and attaches fee schedules to plans.
