EHR/EMR

Post by asanders » Mon Aug 08, 2011 7:04 am

I read over the weekend about the EHR. Can someone enlighten me as to what it all entails? I'm fairly confused. Is the link to the EHR as listed in version 11 something entirely new and separate from a simple electronic medical/druge history?

-Thanks.

It will only apply to you if you have a certain threshold of Medicaid patients (30% for most dentists or 20% for pediatrics) or if you practice in a rural health center or FQHC and have 30% needy individuals. If you meet those requirements and more, and if you jump through many many hoops, the government will give you about $60,000. Using a certified software is one of the major hoops. Unless you are trying to qualify for the money, you don't need to worry about it.

Gotcha. Still holding out hope for a simple electronic health/drug history that is connected to the database.
