Database Maintenance Questions

Post by jclaydds » Tue May 31, 2011 2:42 pm

I have a couple of questions about the DataBase Maintenance Function.

1) What is the difference between the "Check" button and the "Fix" button? Should we using them both? Should we "Check" 1st and then "Fix" 2nd?

2) I previously used a program called MySQL Administrator to optimize my MySQL OpenDental database tables. Does the "Optimize" button now found in DataBase Maintenance perform the same function?

1. It doesn't matter. The reason for it is that we are trying to move to a strategy where we let users fix specific things rather than just everything. So it seems kind of pointless right now, but it's going to be great when it's done.
2. Yes.
