5.0. You can't upgrade your mysql version until AFTER you are already on 7.8.

Hi,

Can you let me know which version of OD will start requiring an upgrade to MySql? Which version of MySql (5.5.9 or 5.5.11, etc..?). If I choose to stay on MySql 5.0 for a little longer what would happen? The new features would not work or OD will be completely not functional.

thanks.

You can remain on 5.0.22, and we would have said indefinitely, but upwards of 25% (maybe higher, it is hard to measure) of users start getting MySQL Error 17 or other error codes from MySQL starting in version 7.7 (really 7.8 now since 7.7 was moved back into beta and never moved out again). The users see it one or two times a week up to several times a day, affects all clients at the same time if connected to same MySQL service. All you have to do is restart the MySQL service, but that can be troublesome and gets old fast. But if you don't get that error, we do not yet have any feature that requires the upgrade. I do not know what version will require the MySQL upgrade in the future.

The error is with version 5.0. Upgrading to version 5.5 took care of the problem for me. No more Error 17!
