I went to a practice management seminar and the speaker told us that everytime he diagnoses a crown he places a gold sticker on the chart. They stick out of the charts and are very visible. Anytime the schedule has holes, he walks by the paper charts and pulls the ones with gold stickers and has the staff call to see if the patients are ready to schedule the crown appointment. It works well because it is quick way to identify patients in need of a service.
I would like to see this idea implemented in open dental. Yes you can run reports on D2750 codes etc but this takes more time. Would it be possible to have a button with crown on it to symbolize any high productive procedure – PFM, Endo, Ortho, Veneers, etc...
When a patient is a diagnosed with any of this high end procedure you press the crown button and tag that chart in Open Dental.
Then create a report that list all the patients that have been tagged.
What do people think about this idea?
Would this be possible to implement?
