Has there been any progress towards mass e-mailing patients? Currently I am forced to export all emails and import them into our Gmail online contacts and we email from there. Unfortunately, Gmail limits emails to a max of 500 recipients at a time so we have to have multiple groups in our address book. If this feature is not present in Open Dental at this point does anyone else have an easier way to use email to communicate with our patients?

The question I have is once obtained, is an email address considered PHI? It is a unique patient identifier. Saying that, and without a patient request for such, aren’t pushed emails considered containing protected content, therefore require encryption? There’s a lot of gray area here…

Just checking the status on this. This would be so helpful. What is the latest?

There are several notable services that allow you to send these types of emails:

MailChimp
