Tip: Use Driver's License for Patient Photo

Post by joshuab » Mon Dec 20, 2010 12:45 pm

I know some use webcams but we feel its a bit intrusive. We have a Fujitsu scanner (several of them) we use - self feeding and they scan cards. We've always scanned insurance cards and driver's license. Now on OD, it is easy to open the PDF of the driver license, drag a box around the photo, copy (CTRL+C), open Images module in OD, Paste (GREAT OPTION), choose Patient Pictures and done!

FYI for anyone interested...

genius idea.

ive been wondering how we are going to implement photos.. ive got intraorals but the constant LED lighting in their face gets annoying and i dont think my assts will like lugging around the 50D for every patient. Other option is to use a point and shoot i guess.

We've been doing the same thing at our office for awhile now, it works great.
