Combined Insurance Plans Version 7.5

Post by Rickliftig » Fri Dec 10, 2010 6:30 am

Before we update to version 7.5, it would be great if many people could chime in with their experiences regarding the 'combined plans' and how smoothly or roughly that conversion went.

Thanks in Advance!

I would suggest going for not combining the plans. We had to include that option for large clinics who may have thousands of patients on the same plan. The combine feature that's included in OD can handle combining as needed.

We're one of those large offices with thousands of patients on the same plan. Any precautions we should take before doing this? The screenshot in the 7.5 feature list looks like it will combine plans based on insurance carrier, employer and group number. Most of our identical plans don't have a group number - but the group name would be different for several different plans under the same carrier. Is this going to result in too many being combined that shouldn't be?

It does also check group name and fee schedule when combining.

It happens during the conversion to 7.5. So if you're already on a version that's later than that, you won't see it again.
