Backup

Post by Hersheydmd » Wed Sep 29, 2010 2:57 pm

I moved my OD database (and MySQL) to a computer in a back room that is rarely used and not easily accessible.
At first I was able to still backup OD from my Frontdesk, I just changed the From line to \\backcomputer\mysql\data, and I was able to backup to my portable hard drive and take it home and restore at home.
When I came back after the weekend and tried to restore from the portable drive attached to my FrondDesk to the same \\backcomputer\sysql\data, it wouldn't allow it, I am guessing, because it couldn't shut down the mysql service (?). Now I can't even back up through the network anymore. It says "invalid path".
It is very difficult to access the USB ports on the "server" so I am stuck. Is there a way for me to back up from my FrontDesk, without going into the back room.
