Greetings,
For panos, x-rays, slides and photos I use an Epson Expression 1680 Pro scanner.
It works GREAT, albeit slow.
For paper documents and plastic cards (driver license, insurance, etc) I use a Fujitsu ScanSnap S510.
It works very well and is very fast. However it does not have a TWAIN driver.
So when a scan is made, the image of the scan views on the screen along with a question as to where the document should be saved.
I can then scroll down through the tree to the OpendentalImage A-Z files.
Saving to a patient's image file, the image is automatically placed in the first file in the patient's tree, Credit Approval.
We then manually move the document to the appropriate file.
However, I read on this forum that the Epson WorkForce GT-S50 was a better scanner and was TWAIN compliant.
So now I own one of those.
How can I set this scanner up so that the image pops up and I havethe choice of where to put it.
It seems it automatically drops the document into My Documents in .pdf formar where it is hard to find.
Thanks

Re: Setting up new scanner
Scan from Open Dental by going to the patient's image module and click on the icon for scan. Then select the scanner and scan the document. It will prompt you to select the images folder you want the document to be in.
