Images in email

Post by cheroxy » Tue Jul 13, 2010 5:22 pm

I see that req# 429 is for allowing html email. I would like to request the feature of sending images as part of the email body and not just attachments. I assume the HTML feature would take care of this, if not I'll add my request.
Thanks

Yes, that sounds like a good comment to make on #429.

Possibly a bad idea, another pms ive used says that html and images/attachments are not supported due to possibility of viruses destroying the database which would be a disaster. Attachments have to be downloaded from the email to the hard drive and opened through an antivirus program but persumably the virus is downloaded out of the practice database in any case?

And for incoming, that's what antivirus software is for. As long as the email program saves the file to disk first before opening it, then the antivirus software will have a chance to scan it. That's not the real reason they don't support it. The real reason is that they haven't had time to implement it, just like us.
