DEA number on Rx

Post by atd » Mon Jun 21, 2010 11:23 am

A dentist is requesting I remove the DEA number from our printed prescriptions - she doesn't want to give the patient her DEA number, she'd wants the pharmacy to call and ask for it. I know the "controlled substance" checkbox will trigger that printing. I'm just trying to decided if I should uncheck them in the prescription setup so it doesn't print for anyone, if I should tell her to uncheck it each time she prints a controlled substance, or if I'm better off just removing it from the Rx sheet. What do other OD users do?

I just let mine prinout.
But, You can also just remove the DEA number from that providers setup and it will always stay blank no matter what they pick on the prescription.
