Unhandled Exception - Letter Merge

Post by jclaydds » Sat Jan 02, 2010 2:26 pm

Version 6.9.3

I am trying to use the Letter Merge Function. I have several letters that I use the letter merge function with and have been doing so for the last couple of years. Some of them are still functioning normally but several are giving me an Unhandled Exception.

The error message says the error is in the Microsoft .NET Framework and states that "Word cannot start the converter mswrd632.wpc.

Here are the details:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** Exception Text **************
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800A140C): Word cannot start the converter mswrd632.wpc.

Wasn't anything we did, so I googled it. This result
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973904
indicates that it's an MS security update that caused the problem. There's an annoying registry edit involved in making the error message go away.

Thanks,

I followed the instructions from Microsoft in the link you provided and edited the registry according to the instructions in the article and it fixed the problem.

Again, thanks for your help and your prompt reply.
