It was not added by us in the first place. Now that we have the Plugin framework, we have more freedom to remove clutter. The reasons why it was removed:
1. Poorly implemented. The amount remaining does not show until after you hover.
2. When you hover, it triggers many queries which get repeated every time you hover again. This is interpreted by some users as slowness and is inefficient.
3. As a rule, information should be in one place. Our design all along has been to have that information in the TP module. It takes one click to see, and one click to return to Account. It allows the user to see the TP procedures at the same time. That area is where we want users to go.
4. This is not a good use of a hover effect. It's not intuitive enought that hovering over that text should cause a popup display. This isn't a Mario Brothers game where the user should be hunting down hidden treasures.
5. We don't have time to rework it to do it "right", adding it as an option, etc.

Having said all that, if we get enough user demand for it, it's not too hard to add it back like it was. But I really hate getting into discussions like this, because if someone else hadn't added it, then nobody would miss it. It causes confusion for our customers when features are added without better planning.

I am one who added that feature and would be happy to add it back in if other people want it

Jordan,

I am sorry I am not a better programmer, and would love to make those thing as you mentioned better. I never knew you had suggestions for it...I would love to know when you have a suggestion so we can all make OD better everyday!

Another thing that has disappeared lately: The total for the pt's balance including any payment plans. That seems to have disappeared with 6.7.21 as well. I really think you need to be able to see the TOTAL BALANCE for the pt very easy without adding up payment plans etc . Can you make some suggestions here as well? I would also like to rework the statements to reflect the TOTAL BALANCE (not just what is due) to show on the statement just like I am talking about in the account. This has been requested by people before and I said I would do it months ago and have never found the time....

1) The amount remaining does not show until after you hover. (You asked me to remove that for speed a year ago when I implemented it. In my initial versions, it loaded all the data with the rest of the module data, and DID NOT refresh every time you hovered)
2) taken care of above
3)The information is necessary when you are checking a pt out IMO
4)How would you suggest to fit all this info in in light of no more screen real-estate? I would love a better implementation, but it really seems to work great to me. once you see how it works once it is invaluable.
5)What can I do to make it right?

I will be happy to just use the new plug-in framework after I figure out how that works if you would like that better...

Also, if you could enable programmers/contributors and non support people to view (and not contribute) the feature request voting system, I would love to be able to see what other people want as well and maybe put some of my efforts into getting some of those on the more simple side completed so you can work on the big important stuff!

I was trying not to name any names. There are many design considerations which are just too hard to get into discussions about. I discuss things with the programmers who work here, but I just don't have time to explain all the reasoning to everyone; not enough hours in the day. Modules must load up with one dataset. That dataset must be small and fast. That's the short answer to the additional questions. As for outside help, my whole point was that outside help is not helpful. I'm sorry, but that's just a hard-learned lesson. It's too complicated, and I would spend all my time training the outside programmer.

It's request 990.

Thanks for understanding. You'll have a blast with the plugin. I'm curious to see what plan you're going to come up with for distributing your plugin.

I love popups. More popups please! I am using a pre-release version fo Windows 7 at home, and it is clear that microsoft has gone all out on popups. Quicken too is loaded with them, and I think that they are great and are the future for windows programs.
